Horses can fly!


Greenville Spartanburg International Airport is making history this month. On Sunday, September 2nd, the first of 10 Boeing 777 freighter aircraft landed at GSP carrying 67 horses bound for the FEI World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina. This will be the largest Commercial airlift of horses in history. Emirates SkyCargo will move a total of 550 horses during this airlift. Horses are transported in customized stalls with independently air conditioned zoned to maintain the perfect temperature. The horses are being flown from Liege, Belgium which is a nine hour flight from GSP.
