Bradley D. Toy, CCIM, of Langston-Black Real Estate, Inc. represented Progressive Consultants, LLC and Burt Development in the $1,150,000 purchase of the historic Dixie Mill at 710 Greenville St., Lagrange, GA from Dixie Mill Enterprises, LLC.\u00a0 Brad also represented Progressive Consultants in the acquisition of 2.71 acres across the street which included the mill parking lot and a portion of the historic baseball field from a separate seller.<\/p>\n
Dixie Cotton Mills was founded in 1895 and started operating in 1896.\u00a0 West Point Manufacturing Company bought the plant in 1933 and then merged with Pepperell in 1965.\u00a0 West Point-Pepperell closed the plan in 1985 only to reopen it in 1988. \u00a0In 1993 West Point-Pepperell bought out J. P Stevens to become WestPoint Stevens.\u00a0 WestPoint Stevens closed the mill for good in 2004.\u00a0 More recently the mill has been used by a local company in the business of recycling carpet. Progressive Consultants intends to redevelop the mill in to loft apartments.<\/p>\n
Brad has also assisted Progressive Consultants and Burt Development with the acquisition and disposition of projects in Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville, NC and Augusta, GA.\u00a0 In April, Brad represented Progressive Consultants in their acquisition of over 400,000 sf of historic cotton warehouses on 20+ acres at 1812 Slaton Street in Augusta, GA.<\/p>\n
Other projects Brad has been involved in include Brandon Mill in Greenville, now the West Village Lofts at Barndon Mill, the former J.P. Stevens office building in Dunean, which is currently undergoing renovations, and the Christian Blind Mission in Greenville..<\/p>\n
In Spartanburg Brad brokered the acquisition of the Schuyler Apartments, now the Church Street Lofts and The Freemont School Apartments which are under going their second historic renovation and are now known at the Brick Lofts.\u00a0 Brad also brokered the acquisition of the site for Skylofts Asheville.<\/p>\n
